How can I personalise my Emails with the recipient's name or other information?

In addition to the standard fields (such as name and email), Closum allows you to create personalised fields that store additional information about your contacts. This is useful for including data such as company, birthday, job title or any other information relevant to your communication strategy.

How to create personalised fields:

  1. Access Closum's Settings

  • On your dashboard, go to Settings » Application » Contact.

  1. Add and Edit Contact Fields

  • In the Contact Fields section, click on Configure.

  • Choose the types of data you want to store, such as text, numbers or dates.

  • Example: You can add a {company} field to store the contact's company name.

  1. Save and use the fields

  • These new fields can later be used to personalise your emails and messages.

Creating personalised fields ensures that each email you send is adapted to the recipient's information, making communication more effective.

In this article, we take a closer look at creating personalised fields: How to Create Personalised Fields.

How to place variables in the Subject Line

  1. In the Campaign, click on "Variables".

  1. Within Variables, select the variable you want to use.

Variables not working?

Variables may not work if you are trying to test them using a test Email. Test Emails allow you to preview the layout of a campaign and do not test the full functionality.

To test your variables properly, create a duplicate of your campaign and send it to yourself as if you were a normal subscriber.

Personalised variables will not appear for subscribers who do not have data in the field you are inserting into your campaign. If you don't use a predefined variable, the personalised variable will simply appear as a blank space.
