How to Avoid Email Clipping

In certain cases, platforms like Gmail truncate the content of newsletters sent to subscribers. In this article, we outline some best practices to avoid Email clipping.

What is Email Clipping?

Typically, Gmail clips the content of a newsletter if its size exceeds 102KB. The full content is hidden, and at the end of the email, the following message appears: [Message clipped] View entire message.

To view the complete content, the recipient must click on that message.

Best Practices to Avoid Email Clipping:

  • Summarize the content as effectively as possible and include only essential information;
  • Provide additional details through links (e.g., “read more”) and remove excessive copy;
  • Minimize the amount of code and avoid overly complex formatting;
  • Avoid copying and pasting directly from websites or other applications;
  • Test your Email before launching the full campaign.
