What is an API key?

An API key is a code used to identify and authenticate an application or user. It acts as a unique identifier and provides a secret token for authentication purposes.

If you want to integrate Closum with another tool, such as a CRM or automation platform, you may need an API key to authenticate the connection and ensure that data is transferred securely.

API keys are usually generated within the user's account on the corresponding platform. It is essential to keep them private to prevent unauthorised access. 🔐

With an API key, you can also connect to our API to automatically add new contacts, as well as to carry out more complex tasks, such as:

  • Editing and deleting Leads

  • Sending SMS (payment reminders, order messages)

  • Sending Email Templates
