States of a WhatsApp template

Template States

Templates can have the following states:

In-Review:

The template is still being reviewed. Review can take up to 24 hours.

Rejected:

The template was rejected during the review process or violates one or more policies. See the Resources section.

Active - Quality pending:

The template has not yet received quality feedback or read rate data from customers. It can be sent while in this state. See the Quality Assessment.

Active - High Quality:

The template has received little or no negative feedback from customers. It can be sent as normal. See the Quality Assessment.

Active - Medium Quality:

The template has received negative feedback from several customers or has a low read rate. It can still be sent, but risks being paused or deactivated. See the Quality Assessment.

Active - Low Quality:

The template has received negative feedback from several customers or has a very low read rate. It can still be sent, but is at imminent risk of being paused or deactivated. It is recommended that you resolve the problems reported by customers. See the Quality Assessment.

Paused:

The template has been paused due to recurring negative feedback or a low read rate. It cannot be sent while in this state. See the Pausing Templates section.

Disabled:

The template has been disabled due to recurring negative feedback. It cannot be sent.
